    Description:

Salsa is a Latin dance associated with the music genre of the same name, which originated in the 1960s in New York City. Salsa is an amalgamation of Cuban dances that were popular in the ballrooms and nightclubs of Havana by the end of the 1950s (e.g. "casino", mambo and Pachanga), as well as American jazz dances.

    INSTRUCTOR: ALOY

Graduated from Havana National School of the Arts, Aloy moved to Dubai nine years ago and is now recognized as one of the finest Cuban folkloric dancers in the country. He moves with a vibrant fluency charismatic to his Afro-Cuban heritage, which is famous for both mesmerizing and uplifting audiences worldwide.

Before moving to Dubai, Aloy was trained since early childhood at the prestigious National School of the Arts, Cuba. He eventually became featured as the principal dancer in Havana Night Dance Company as well as the Cuban National Folkloric Dance Company in Havana, Cuba.

Aloy`s time in Melbourne during the 2000s was dynamic and important in growing the Cuban dance scene, with classes, workshops and performances, reaching hundreds. Aloy now owns and manages his own dance school called CUBANEO IN DUBAI, and has been collaborating with many dance schools in Dubai leaving his true mark as one of the finest and most authentic Cuban dancers and teachers around the world.

In the Afro Cuban tradition, the relationship between the dancer, live musicians and the music is extremely sacred. The two are inseparable and like Aloy, most performers can all dance, sing and play percussion confidently.
